SMACNA Charter Signed 75 Years Ago as of October 18, 2018

The Sheet Metal Contractors National Association was established in the state of New York 75 years ago as of October 18, 2018.

The objectives of the Association set forth in the charter were: to advance the sheet metal industry and “to foster and encourage the organization and continued functioning of regional, state, and local associations; to provide a national clearinghouse for the collection, correlation, and dissemination of information of value; to promote high standards of practice; to provide adequate national representation in dealing with government agencies and other industry groups, other trades, and in handling industrial relations; to institute widespread and well-coordinated studies of present and future problems; and to generally protect and promote the welfare of our industry to the extent possible and permissible.
